Outside of my studies, I have developed numerous interests to keep me busy. In my free time I partake in hobbies including scuba diving, hiking, crocheting, and traveling. Being able to balance my hobbies while focusing on my undergraduate studies has been quite the adventurous experience. I have been ecstatic to combine these interests throughout my course work, such as spending my sophomore year abroad and even taking University of Florida's Open Water Scuba course!
Upon my graduation from the University of Florida, I plan to continue my education through acquiring a Master's Degree for Data Science and Analytics. As I have focused my mathematics degree towards actuarial science, I am eager to grow my statistical modeling, data mining, and database skills. Developing these skills would prove instrumental in my professional advancement in an actuarial field when focusing on risk predication and complex business models. During this upcoming summer, I will be sitting for my initial actuarial FM exam, beginning my track to becoming an enterprise risk actuary.
While at UF, I held a Learning Assistant position for the Analytical Geometry and Calculus 1 course. I was able to assist the instructor whilst answering student questions about the complex content. Adjusting my teaching methods as necessary to fit student needs, I learned the importance of adaptability and patience. Additionally, I have been a private Pre-Algebra and Algebra II tutor since Fall 2023, allowing me to advance my reach to middle and high school students.
